PHILLIPSBURG GIVES EX-COACH DOMINIC HIS MOMENT WITH HALL OF FAME INDUCTION
Phillipsburg High School honored former football coach Tom Dominic prior to Friday’s home game against Hunterdon Central with his official induction into the Phillipsburg/Easton Hall of Fame.
The hall inducts members each year prior to the Phillipsburg-Easton rivalry game on Thanksgiving morning at Lafayette College’s Fisher Field.
Dominic was slated to be inducted as part of the 2016 class last November, but was hospitalized and unable to attend. Dominic, flanked by family and friends, was honored as a player and coach for the Stateliners.
After his high school career, he went on to play right guard at Rutgers University before returning to his alma mater as an assistant coach under Bob Stem and Phil Rohm.
Dominic was P’burg’s head coach from 1987-89, compiling a record of 25-8 -- a winning percentage of .758.
He holds the rare distinction of maintaining a perfect record against the archrival Red Rovers as both a player (4-0 from 1961-64) and as a head coach.
